Jesus took all the punishment and all the judgement we deserve…He came into the world with a purpose and the result of His purpose is our salvation. Amen.

Jesus gave up so much and suffered so much for you and me. In choosing a life led by faith we are gaining so much more than what the world and darkness is offering. The worlds standard of values and success are empty and fragile…the current pandemic shows us that more than anything. Just like Jesus said to Matthew who was sitting at a tax collector booth, He also says to you, “…Follow me” – Matthew 9:9 Amen.
“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”

When we stand on the foundation of faith and a personal relationship with God, we can trust that where we stand is firm ground and even though all around us is uncertainty, fear and anxiety we are held by God’s love and we will be guided through the troubling times if we stay close to Jesus and God’s word. The only solid foundation we will find in this life is with God. May His peace be with you. Amen.

Jesus knows what it is like to live life in this world. He was born as a baby…from the day of His birth until the day He died He experienced almost anything we encounter in our lives. He knows what it is like for you and me in this world. He knows we are sinners and that we will make mistakes and poor decisions…yet He sacrificed Himself to save us anyways. Why? Because He loves us that much. Amen.

This is Holy Week…a time to reflect clearly on what Jesus truly did for you, to save you. He entered the city of Jerusalem to cheers and the waving of palms…and days later He left the city, beaten, bloody and dragging the very cross He would die upon…in order to reconcile us with God. It is all written down for us in God’s Word. I am a sinner, thankful for the Lord Jesus Christ…for His sacrifice, for His mercy and for His love. Thanks be to God. Amen.

Seek the way of the Lord. Spend time with God. Read God’s word. Pray. Seek to understand rather than judge. Cast all your worries and fears on Him who sacrificed Himself to save you. God loves you and He wants a personal relationship with you…turn towards Him in faith and trust His way. Amen.

It is needed now more than ever…the world focuses all it’s time on what is lost or has been taken away. Gratitude is an attitude, a choice. When you look at life you choose how you are going to view circumstances and that view depends on your beliefs. If your beliefs are based on the false truths the world teaches you are sure to be disappointed and have a negative view of life…if you build your beliefs on the foundation of a relationship with Jesus Christ you can seek the wisdom that comes from God and that can provide a peace that surpasses all understanding. Amen.

Our purpose is to learn about Him who loves us and sacrificed Himself for us… and then to shine a light on God’s love, God’s mercy and God’s grace for others to see not for ourselves but for God. We can show God to others by who we are in how we treat others and by our actions and behaviors. Shine a light in this dark world and trust in the Lord. Amen.
“For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[a] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.”

The bible tells us that we will have trouble in this world…it states clearly that we can persevere through trials and temptations. The bible also gives us examples of people who lived and suffered and how they interacted with God and lived their lives with faith. At times it wasn’t pretty, they didn’t live lives that were sweet and easy all the time. Read about Abraham and Sarah, read about Joseph. Look through the pages of David’s life. Take time to read about the life of Jesus. Yes, there are struggles, trials and suffering and a life of faith and living in God’s love doesn’t mean they will disappear…it provides you the courage and the hope to get through the difficult times. Do not be overcome by darkness and evil look to God and pray and you will see hope. Amen.

The faith journey is an on-going learning and growing process. It is about our relationship with Jesus Christ and how it impacts life. It is not a to do list of check the box things and move on to the next…it is interwoven into our daily life. We can choose to acknowledge it or not. If we want to know peace that surpasses all understanding…we should choose to explore faith and see what God has planned for our journey. Amen.
“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
