Perspective

Outlook…viewpoint…position…approach…frame of mind…attitude

What feeds our perspective?

What are we consuming with our eyes, our ears and our minds?

What experience or experiences are framing our view?

All of these are inputs into our perspective and they shape our attitude

If we choose to allow our point of view to be shaped by what goes on around us in a world filled with me first, self-centered, get more attitudes…we will become like the world

The best defense is to build a foundation within your heart and mind that is based on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  We can’t stop the world from trying to influence us, yet we can choose to turn away from the sin and run towards our Savior and Lord.  Jesus said;

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 NIV

Trust in the Lord and seek His perspective on your life

Living Hope Perspective

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…”

1 Peter 1:3 NIV

The hope we receive from Christ is a hope that knows and believes that Christ lives and that God is for us and working for our good, even when, especially when the visible evidence is against it

The hope from God’s Word tells us to not give up or surrender to sin and doubt, rather know that God is with us and we can trust in Him

Not for the things we believe we should have but for the things God knows that we need

May we all place our trust in the God of hope in our daily lives

Walking In The Light

Father God, I want to walk with You.  Please fill my mind with thoughts that honor You and other people so that my words and actions bring life and are encouraging for everyone.  Transform me into a new person who is walking in the Light of Christ with You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Walk In The Light

Father God, when we are overwhelmed by the brokeness we see, help us to remember that You see us.  You are in control.  We cannot stop all the pain and injustice we witness, yet help us overcome evil by doing good.  Help us to walk in the Light with You.  Give us the courage and humility to love people well today.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Passion, Persistence, Perseverance

Practice hospitality.”

We are loved

We are forgiven

The battle has been won

Jesus has claimed victory over sin and death

No matter where you are or what the circumstances of your life look like…don’t give up

Remember what Jesus did for you and stir up the passion of His love in your spirit

He is with you…always

A Prayer Of Surrender

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

Father God, help us surrender our ways to You.  You can have all of us…every thought, action, behavior and desire.  Guide us to Your way in all that we do.  Help us listen and obey You.  Thank You for sending Your Son to save us so that we can have a personal relationship with You.  Take all that we are and help us to be a Light in the World for others all year long.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Father God, You are faithful and Your mercy endures forever.  You are the source of hope and the giver of peace to all who call on You!  You know what each of us is facing and working to overcome every day.  So, we call out to You, our source of hope, thank You for Your forgiveness and lead us to living a life that honors You and shows love to others.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Peace From God’s Word

The Bible is God’s Word given to us to guide us, teach us and encourage us in our lives

  It has been translated in to many languages all over and it is continuing spread

We can do our part by learning what is says and putting it into action

Read God’s Word…do what it says…and you will enjoy God’s peace

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. Listen…Do What It Says

Father God, give us courage to seek Your Word and to listen to Your guidance.  Grant us wisdom to recognize the difference between what we think is best and what Your will is for our lives.  In Jesus name, Amen.
