Humility…Peace

Confession…Forgiveness

Humility And Patience

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’

13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Surrender

What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”

Everyone Is Carrying A Burden

Evey person you encounter everyday is fighting a battle you know nothing about…we all have burdens of some kind.  We are not here to judge whether one persons burden is greater than another…in love we are to strive to help others carry their burdens as much as we need someone to help us carry our own.  We should strive to ask the question…”how can I help?” more often than “why isn’t someone helping me?”  Jesus set the example for us and we would do well to follow Him.  Amen.

A Servant Spirit

It takes discipline and a willingness to sacrifice self-serving ways.  It is not about fame and fortune or ‘likes’ and ‘followers’.  There are many in our society that choose a vocation to serve and it shows the goodness that comes from God that can shine through us.  It really is a choice for each of us, how we want to live…what attitude we are going to put on each day.  If and when you are finding it difficult due to the sinful nature of this world…turn towards God in prayer and put some of God’s Word in your heart to renew and refresh your spirit.  I have often used Psalm 51:10-12 to help my spirit.  May God’s peace be with you.  Amen.
