Father God, I want to submit to You

Please fill my mind with thoughts that honor You and other people

Guide me to speak in a way so that my words can bring life and encouragement to others

Transform me into a new person by helping me grow from the inside out

Friendships

Being a friend means listening…just listening

Being a friend means putting the needs of others before your own

Being a friend means making time to be together

Friends can share thoughts…

Thoughts about dreams and goals as well as disappointments and frustrations without judgment

Being a friend means laughing together…often

Being a friend means offering your shoulder when someone needs to cry because the pain is too great to bear alone

A friendship is a give and take relationship…

If your give and take are not balanced evenly the friendship will suffer

This give and take in relationships is also necessary in your spiritual life…

Your friendship with Jesus requires both give and take…

We all have a friend in Jesus

Begin or continue to listen, to make time, to share your dreams and frustrations, to laugh with your friend Jesus…

It is the one friendship that will definitely last forever

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know the master’s business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

Think About Him…

“A huge cloud of witnesses is all around us. So let us throw off everything that stands in our way. Let us throw off any sin that holds on to us so tightly. And let us keep on running the race marked out for us. 2 Let us keep looking to Jesus. He is the one who started this journey of faith. And he is the one who completes the journey of faith. He paid no attention to the shame of the cross. He suffered there because of the joy he was looking forward to. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 He made it through these attacks by sinners. So think about him. Then you won’t get tired. You won’t lose hope.“

When you are tired and run down or discouraged and defeated, think about Him…

When you are frustrated or angry with others, think about Him…

When you feel like there is no hope, think about Him…

Think about Him who endured death on a cross between two thieves…

Think about Him who was spit on and had a crown of thorns pushed onto His head…

Think about Him who had His beard plucked out and gave His back to the whip…

And think about Him who gave His blood and His life

He did it all for us

  He did it because He loves us and He wants good things for us

Rather than focus on the things of this world

Turn your attention towards Him and give Him thanks for who He is and what He has done

And you will find peace

The Lord Of My Everything?

Sometimes I struggle with my faith when it comes to opening up to the Lord for all things

Not only the parts of my life and my heart I think He wants to be involved in…that would be God on my terms

I have come to learn…it does not work like that

God is the God of everything and Jesus Christ is Lord of all

All of creation, all people in all nations since the beginning of time and His love is for everything and everyone

His grace and His mercy will endure forever

It can be so difficult for my finite mind to comprehend the totality of God and His love

He is more than the God of Sunday morning or Wednesday evening…

He is more than the God of when I really need help or a crisis is happening…

He is more than a beautiful sunrise or sunset when we do feel more of His presence

He is also the Lord of housework, the Lord of daily errands, the Lord of trips to Grandma and Grandpa’s house, He is the Lord of where you work and He is the Lord what you do…He is the Lord of everything

The best part of all?

This means He is right there waiting to hear from you about everything

If He is your Lord and Savior that doesn’t mean everything will be easy and good…yet He is with you through all of it

May we know God’s presence, His love, His joy and His forgiveness

A Prayer For Peace

Father God, You know that we need You

We are sorry for all the times we have pretended that we are fine on our own

Please forgive us

Today, we come to You just as we are and we give You all of our anxieties, all of our cares and all of our worries

Please replace our worry with peace

Replace our anxiety with hope

And replace our concerns with confident trust in You

We know nothing is too hard for You and that You are greater than anything we face in this world

Grant us Your peace

Contentment

Contentment is found in a relationship with God

We can search for it in the many things the world offers

Yet those seeking it in worldly values have and will continue to find it unattainable in worldly pursuits

Put your hope in God and spend time with Him every day…

This is the path to finding contentment

Joy In God’s Promises

The Presence Of The Lord

When have you felt like you could sense the Presence of God?

When have you felt like God has come near to you?

Where were you?  What was going on in your life or around you?

Where do you see God in this life?

All that is good is from God…all that is dark and evil is from the Satan, the world and our flesh

Look to see the Presence of the Lord in your life and you will see that He has been with you every step of the way

We Are Not Alone…God Is With Us

Whatever the struggle…whatever the battle is in your life…physical, mental, emotional or spiritual…

You are not alone in your fight

God is with you

He tells us over and over again in the bible…Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 41:10, Matthew 28:20 and several more times

  Trust in the Lord, He has never broken a promise

His promise is to be with you for every day and for every situation

It is up to us to look, listen and to come near to Him

Store up God’s Word in your heart and mind so that no matter where you are or what is happening

You have the ability to call on God for strength, courage and comfort
