Saved By Grace

Father God, I sometimes struggle to give myself grace.  It can be hard to forgive myself for things I have done, yet I know that You have forgiven me.  Knowing that You have forgiven me, I can forgive myself.  I ask You for wisdom to learn and understand Your Word and Your truth about grace.  I give You thanks for Your mercy and grace that has saved me.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Father God, I am Your child.  Thank You for adopting me into Your eternal family.  Please shape my heart.  Teach me how to act in a way that honors You in my daily life and circumstances.  Help me correct my thoughts and perspective along with any patterns of behavior in my life that displease You.  Replace these things with characteristics that show how much I love You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

A Prayer Of Surrender

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

Father God, help us surrender our ways to You.  You can have all of us…every thought, action, behavior and desire.  Guide us to Your way in all that we do.  Help us listen and obey You.  Thank You for sending Your Son to save us so that we can have a personal relationship with You.  Take all that we are and help us to be a Light in the World for others all year long.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Love One Another

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Lord Jesus, You have shown us what true humility looks like.  You gave up so much to save us.  Thank You!  Help us to replace our pride with humility and help us to replace our self-centeredness with a desire to love and serve one another.  Change the way we think, our actions and our behavior to a way that shows Your love to others and guides us to live our lives in a way that honors You.  In Your name we pray, Amen.

Living life by faith is about who we are more than what we do.  Our behaviors, how we treat others and our interactions with others say more about us than our job or career path.  The world honors worldly things like wealth, awards, job titles and other self-oriented pursuits…these things are not considered to be wrong or bad…the issue is these things have become more important than God.

When self-satisfaction is more important than our relationship with God, we are going off course…to be clear we are all guilty of this sin, it is human nature in a fallen world.  The first step in repentance is awareness of the behavior and the next step is confessing to God and seeking to turn away from our sins, with God’s help.  As humans we all suffer from trouble…how we choose to respond is up to us.  May the peace of the Lord be with you.

Grace…Hope…Peace

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

God’s love for us is unconditional.  This is God’s Grace…His love does not change based on our behaviors.  It is hard for us to understand because we are human and He is God.  The truth is He cannot love us any more and He cannot love us any less than He does right now.  He is the only one we can truly count on in this life.

He sent His Son as a sacrifice to allow us to be reconciled to Him.  If we are willing to believe in Jesus Christ and seek a personal relationship with Him we will be filled with Hope that only comes through Jesus.  It is this Hope that brings us Peace that surpasses all understanding.  May God’s peace be with you and flow through you.  Amen.

Saved By Grace

Love And Faithfulness

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”

God has given human beings free will and His Word gives us instructions on how we should choose to live…unfortunately too many of us have turned our backs on God and put worldly ways and worldly values before Him in our lives.

This choice by human beings of rejecting God is what invites evil into the world and evil comes to cause pain and suffering as described in John 10:10…“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…”  We need to seek the Lord with all our heart and choose to live in a way that honors God.
