Hope With Humility

Character and attitude…how we treat each other in our daily lives

These are the things that show that we believe

Love is action

Learn from the example that Jesus provided in His life, death and resurrection

Live out your faith with your attitude and how you treat others in daily life

Trust

Father God, when I am anxious and afraid, I will put my trust in You

I will rely on You no matter what comes my way because You are my source of strength and safety

You guide me and You fight for me

When I draw near to You, I have nothing to fear, because I know that You are in control

I know You will never leave me or abandon me and so I put my trust in You

The Name Of Jesus

Father God, You gave us Your Son, the Light of the world

Give us courage and strength to call out His name

Jesus, regardless of what we face, we want to experience a personal relationship with You

Thank You for everything You did and are continuing to do for us

We need You, we believe in You, we trust You and we ask for Your guidance in all things and at all times

  Thank You for Your everlasting love.  In Your Holy name we pray, Amen

Shine A Light

“For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[a] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.”

2 Corinthians 4:5-6 NIV

Our purpose is to learn about Him who loves us and sacrificed Himself for us

And then to shine a light on God’s love, God’s mercy and God’s grace for others to see not for ourselves but for God

We can show God to others by who we are in how we treat others and by our actions and behaviors

Shine a light in this dark world and trust in the Lord

“Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”[a]“

Allow Christ to Change Your Perspective

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Jesus Christ is alive…the promised Savior has come!

He was born, He lived and taught us how to live

He sacrificed Himself and was crucified and died for us

He has risen and is seated at the right hand of God in heaven

Now what does that mean for us?

What difference is He making in your life?

Are you aware of God’s presence in your daily life?

Believe in Him…seek Him…pray…read God’s Word…pay attention to how God is at work in your life

  Choose to live different from the way of the world

Allow Jesus Christ to impact every area of your life and change your perspective

Spiritual Battle

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

We are caught in the spiritual battle every day

Jesus Christ has won the war and defeated death and evil

Yet darkness is still working to keep us away from God

Be aware the battle continues because of sin

And we know that God will work all things for our good and His glory

Love That Can Change The World

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

Jesus came down from heaven and sacrificed Himself on the Cross

He did it for you…He did it because He loves you and wants a relationship with you!

Give thanks to Him, chose to love God and love others

This is what God wants us to do.

One Hope

Even when we feel surrounded by darkness and evil

We can find hope when we turn towards God, His Word and His Son

We can find hope when we remember that after the brutal and tragic death of Jesus

God raised Him to life

We can have hope because of what God has done and is doing in our lives

It is up to us to seek Him

Our Call

How do we know what God is calling us to do?

For life decisions and direction?

If we use the world’s measuring stick of ‘what we should do’ we risk missing God’s will entirely

To follow our call is to surrender self-serving desires, to be humble and patient and to have a foundation of a faith that is built on our personal relationship with Jesus Christ

That is what I have learned so far…nobody ever said it was going to be easy

We will face trouble and struggles of every kind in life and if we are willing to stand firm on the foundation of faith, we will persevere

Persevere

Father God, You call us to always be faithful and obedient, especially during difficult times

Thank You for providing Your Word as a guide for us

Remind us that no matter what our struggle is, You are near and will renew our strength and provide us endurance to persevere
