Our Help Comes From The Lord

an ever-present help in trouble.”

Psalm 46:1 NIV

When things go side-ways or take an unexpected turn…what do we do first? Ask questions, try to figure out what happened, look for ways to get control of what is going on? None of these are bad yet they should come after we turn to the Lord and pray for help, pray for wisdom, pray for guidance. This is where our help really comes from and we typically wait to call on God as a very last resort. As you go through this day or this weekend try turning to God first for anything and everything…He loves you, He knows you and He wants to give you good things. Amen.

Our Help…Our Guide

Psalm 121:1 NIV

The evil in this world wants to distract and discourage you…turn you away from God. Not aggressively, slowly…methodically…in a way only the great deceiver can carry out. Don’t be misled, don’t believe the lies…look to God in prayer in everything. Nothing in your life is too small or insignificant to talk to God about…that’s what evil wants you to believe. Turn to God in faith and trust His way. Let the Word of God be your guide to living the best you can in everything…every day. Amen.

Our Refuge And Help

Proverbs 18:10 NIV

Our troubles can be overwhelming and lead us down a dark path. We often seek relief in the things of this world and find ourselves disappointed and frustrated. There is one place where we can find shelter and be safe from the storms of life…that is in the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ. With Him is where we can find peace and help in difficult times. Turn towards the Lord first not as a last resort…for He is our refuge and our source of help. Amen.
