Work In Progress

Each day we live means God is still working on us.  He knows the number of our days and He is with us for each and every one of them.  It is up to us to seek Him…to acknowledge Him and His Presence…we have the task of learning, growing and sharing as we go…it doesn’t have to be perfect and it never will be.  God tells us we are His work in progress and if we live our lives trusting and believing and spending time with Him good things will come.  Amen.

The Love Of Christ

This is the foundation of our relationship with Him.  His love for us is the reason He sacrificed Himself to reconcile us with God, even though we are sinners.  Even while He hung on the Cross He pleaded for our forgiveness.  No matter what happens in your life never forget how much Christ loves you.  Amen.

Look For The Good

In the book of Genesis, the story of Joseph aligns closely with how God interacts with humans today.  He suffers many hardships at the hands of others and yet keeps his faith in God.  He trusts God and lives his life with a God trusting attitude and perspective.  This attitude focuses more on what God is up to for our good and less on what others are doing to us.  We have a much better chance of learning about what God is up to if we are looking for the good.  Amen.

Wait for The Lord

Where have you seen God at work in your life?  When you look back across your past, what moments or decisions do you believe God was working on for your good?  He loves us and is always with us.  When you pray?  How do you pay attention for His response?  He speaks to us many different ways.  Be persistent, be patient and wait for the Lord.  Amen.

We Must Humble Ourselves

It’s not about me.  There is a significant difference between self-care and self-centered.  To be humble takes courage, to admit that we make mistakes and poor choices with an attitude of seeking redemption is a path to peace.  Jesus taught us about humility…

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’

13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’

14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Walking With God

A faith journey.  It begins with prayer.  It grows as we read the Scriptures, spend time in devotions, engage in our communities, serve others…it transforms us with a new attitude centered on God and His will for us.  Trust in God, spend time on your relationship with Jesus Christ and pray…pray about everything, every day.  Amen.

Unfailing Love

God’s love is everything for us…there is nothing like it and there is nothing on earth that can separate us from it.  Take time to worship and praise Him for His unfailing love.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

The Way Home

We all have choices and decisions to make in life and each one leads us either closer to or further away from God.  God provides all that we need, an instruction manual for life…the Bible…He has provided the One who can lead us…Jesus Christ.  Meet with Jesus regarding the path you are on and follow Him…He is the only Way home.  Amen.

Who Is It?

Who is knocking on the door of your heart and mind?  If it is Jesus, go to the door and open it and invite Him in…do not be afraid.  If it is something else…if it is the sinful nature and the way of darkness, do not open that door…seek your relationship with Jesus Christ and He will go to that door for you…because that is what He did when He died on the Cross to save you.  Who is knocking at the door of your heart and mind?  Amen.
