Actions Of Hope

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[i] have been called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28 NIV

An action of hope means getting practical

It means working and doing things with trust in God’s plan even when the circumstances don’t reveal it

Actions of hope are a way to live in faith and to put your trust in God

In Jeremiah 32 there is a story of Jeremiah buying a field at a time when Babylon was coming to capture the city

This was not a logical action at the time rather an action of hope because God had said the people will return to buy fields, build houses and live in this land

Destruction was coming yet Jeremiah bought a field

Nothing in your life is wasted…God is at work

Turn towards God in faith and ask for His guidance for opportunities for you to take actions of hope in your life

Rest With Him

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

As the seasons change and the schedule of activities and places to be increases

It is important to be consistent in taking time to rest in between the coming and going

Making time and having a place to rest…truly rest…time to pray, read scripture and recharge your mind and spirit is so important

We can’t be all things for all people all the time…been there, failed at that

Even Jesus would make time to rest His mind and body…why do we think we could do more than Him?

  Seek Him and ask Him to help you find rest in your daily activities

Be Thankful

What are you thankful for today?

How often are we able to see something to be thankful for during difficult times?

It is not easy…yet it is a choice

An attitude of gratitude may not come naturally to us but we should strive for it

It can make such a big difference in our lives and the lives of others

We don’t have to do it alone

Start by thanking God for all He has done for you

Remember when you have struggled in the past and how God was present with you

Be thankful for what God has done and know that He can and He will do it again

God’s Presence Is All Around Us

Distractions? Resolve Them ASAP…

Ever had one of those days?

When you know you have things to do and you just can’t focus…you feel scattered?

Your mind keeps jumping from thought to thought and you have moments when you are telling yourself, “c’mon stop it…focus on what you need to do!”

This is an example of how we can’t overcome things on our own…we need help…we need God

There is a sign in our home with the letters ASAP on it…yet it doesn’t stand for what you are thinking it does

This ASAP stands for “Always Stop And Pray”

When you notice things going the wrong direction, always stop and pray…

When you just don’t know what to do, always stop and pray…

When life gets overwhelming, always stop and pray

Distractions and taking our attention away from God will be constant in life…

We can overcome our problems by remembering to Always Stop And Pray

Remember What God Can Do

Don’t give up…keep going.  God is with you.

Keep praying and be courageous even when you are unsure of the outcome

He is with you, He is within you, every day, all the time!

Remind yourself all that He has done and is still doing

Just keep praying…

But God…

We reflect and remember this day…evil attacked…thousands lost their lives…this was a great tragedy

We also remember that it is from great tragedies that God can bring about the greatest good

This is the hard truth

Jesus Christ died on the Cross…But God raised Him to life

On 9/11 we honor and remember those we lost and we can say with confidience…But God brought unity to our nation

There are other “But God…”statements about the good that God can bring from tragedy

Think about what your But God statement is in your life

May God’s comfort and peace be with us through all the tragedies we experience in life

Grateful For God’s Presence

God’s Presence restores and renews us, it comforts us

He provides for us even when we are not paying attention to Him

God meets all our basic needs…our role is to believe in Him and obey His Word

His Word is not a burden or only a bunch of rules to follow…

His Word and His Presence give life, comfort, peace and hope

Think about circumstances and events in your life that have occurred in the last few days, weeks, months and in the past year…

Throught it all, God was with you…so where did you see Him?

Give thanks and trust in the Lord…

Remember He provides for you with His Presence every day, all the time
