The Grace Of God

Originally posted in January of 2019…

We have been saved…the battle has been won.  Jesus Christ gave of Himself to save us and to reconcile us back to God.  We are not made to do life alone, God our Creator made us out of His love and His Son sacrificed His life because of His love for us and the Holy Spirit is guiding us through our days with God’s grace.  We haven’t earned it, we don’t deserve it.  It has occured because of the mercy and grace of God our Father.  He is not a distant figure in the sky looking for ways to punish us for every mistake, He is doing everything for our good, not according to our plans rather according to His.  We would do well to turn towards God and thank Him and seek to grow our relationship with Jesus Christ.  Amen.

God’s Grace

Give Thanks To The Lord…

It’s so easy to get blinded by worldly values and events that we lose sight of God.  How quickly we forget His love, His mercy, His grace and what Jesus Christ did to save us.  We have access to the instruction manual for life in God’s Word…it’s right there…yet we lay down our worries and burdens and ask Him for help…only to pick them up again and go our own way.  He provides all that we need…let us give thanks to the Lord.  Amen.

Hope From God

He gave us the greatest sacrifice to save us.  He did it for love.  God has promised to always be with you and God never breaks His promises.  Jesus Christ died to save all of us and He has risen from the dead and it is because of His sacrifice and His resurrection that we have hope.  Amen.

“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

Friendship

Jesus tells us in the Gospel of John that we are His friends.  Friends take care of each other, they are loyal, respectful, trustworthy and they support each other through difficult times.  Friendship is a two-way street…sometimes you are giving in your friendship and sometimes you are receiving.  Take time to reflect upon your friendships…especially your relationship with Jesus Christ.  Amen.

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Memorial Day

Today, we honor those who have served and sacrificed themselves for the greater good.  These individuals knew that there are things much more important than self.  They believed in serving to help others and fighting for those who could not fight for themselves.  It takes courage and humility to do what they did and so we honor them with gratitude and respect for their sacrifice.  Amen.
