It’s Simple…

“Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Luke 6:31 NIV

Treat other people the way you want them to treat you

When you stop and think about it…often times yelling and anger gets you more yelling and anger right back at you…

And kindness with a smile often get a kind response in return

We are responsible for our attitudes and how we treat others

Jesus tells us this simple truth about life in the Bible

Read about what Jesus teaches us and follow the example He has set for us

It’s simple and yet nobody ever said or promised it would be easy…

Peace And Hope

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

Colossians 3:15 NIV

Father God, it is easy for us to get distracted and worry about circumstances in our lives

Each day, help us remember that You are always in control

We can have peace because we are trusting in Your protection and plans for us

We know You are near and that You care about our every need

Help us remember we can have hope because You are always working for our good

In Jesus name, Amen

Prayer…Peace

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:4-7 NIV

Prayer is available to us anytime, anywhere

It is not a wishing well, rather it is a foundational element in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ

It is about communication with God about all things good and bad

It is listening, sharing your joys and your worries and most importantly, it is our quiet time with God

Which leads to peace

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Trust What God Says…

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Listen…Do What It Says

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

John 13:34-35 NIV

Father God, give us courage to seek Your Word and to listen to Your guidance

Grant us wisdom to recognize the difference between what we think is best and what Your will is for our lives

In Jesus name, Amen

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”

A Full Life

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[a] They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

John 10:9-10 NIV

A full life…according to what definition?

The world defines a full life very differently than what Jesus is speaking about

The worldly way is about money, possessions, popularity and finding the easy, most self-centered convenient way

The worldly way asks what can I get others to do for me?

God’s way is a very different perspective…

It is about the Fruit of the Spirit…love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control

God’s definition of a full life is about loving God, loving others and sharing the Good News

His way asks what can I do today to show the love of God?

What can I do today to love others?

How will you choose to define a full life?

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Surrender

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 35 For whoever wants to save their life[b] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. 36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?

Mark 8:34-36 NIV

in all your ways submit to him,

Finding The Way

All Scripture is inspired by God[a] and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 CSB

We all have choices

Go this way or that way…try this and don’t do that

We will make mistakes and it is important that we learn from those mistakes

How do we know what is right?

How can we find out which way is best?

Put a relationship with Jesus Christ first in your life, every day

Why?  Read Isaiah 55:8-9

God knows best, He has a plan specifically for you and me

Spending time with Him and growing a personal relationship with Him is the best way to learn about His plan for life

May the peace of the Lord be with you

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
