Good and gracious God, thank You for sharing Your wisdom with those who seek it

As we grow closer to You, help us think more like You

Today, we invite You into our decision-making

Help us make wise decisions

Show us how to process challenging circumstances according to Your Word

Allow Your love to flow through us into every area of our lives

Wisdom From God

“Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”[a]

Nothing we encounter in this world is greater than God

Do not be deceived by the wisdom the of the world

Seek God’s wisdom

Read His Word and learn about life from His perspective

He is our Creator

He is our Savior

Wisdom From Heaven

“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”

There is a large difference between what is considered wisdom in the world and what is truly wisdom that comes from God.

So much of a difference that God’s Kingdom is considered an “upside down Kingdom” compared to the wisdom of the world

To Know Him…

Father God, Your Word is filled with wisdom and promises that offer guidance for our lives

Sometimes it is difficult for us to understand, please give us courage to trust Your faithfulness

Light our path, help us learn about You and Your way and give us clarity about how You want us to live

Stop Chasing After The Wind

“For a person may labor with wisdom, knowledge and skill, and then they must leave all they own to another who has not toiled for it. This too is meaningless and a great misfortune. 22 What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun? 23 All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.

24 A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, 25 for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? 26 To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. The wisest person who ever lived learned that worldly values and pursuits are foolishness and he wrote it down to share with you and me

I believe learning from others in history, especially those who had a close relationship with God

This is one of the reasons why God has given us His Word

May we all take time to read and acknowledge the wisdom in God’s Word

Where Is Your Treasure?

Father God, You know everything about us.  You know all of our thoughts, desires and intentions.  Help us turn our focus to treasures in heaven.  Please remove any ideas or behaviors that will keep us from becoming the people You created us to be.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Contentment

Father God, thank You for being faithful.  Thank You for making a way for us to know You.  You are enough for us, and You make us enough.  Please show us how You are at work in our lives.  We will choose to patiently wait on You, because we know You will finish the good work You have started in our lives.  In Jesus name, Amen.
